Ashley graduated Magna Cum Laude from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont in 1993. She attended law school at the University of Montana School of Law, having earned an Outstanding Applicant Scholarship for her first year of law school. She graduated in 1998 with Honors. While at the University of Montana, Ashley interned at the Gallatin County Attorney's Office and was a member of the Association of Trial Attorneys Trial Team, upon which she competed at the national level. Upon receiving her degree, she was awarded the CALI Award for Excellence in Constitutional law.
Following graduation from law school, Ashley became a full-time Deputy County Attorney with the Gallatin County Attorney's Office. From 1998 to 2012, Ashley handled criminal prosecutions ranging from DUI and domestic violence to serious felony cases. She has also served children by representing the Department of Health and Human Services in child abuse proceedings, and has worked at the appellate level on postconviction proceedings.
Todd attended Westfield State College in Westfield, Massachusetts where he was a captain of the baseball team. Todd graduated from Westfield State in 1994 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. He attended law school at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida and the University of Montana School of Law, graduating in 1997. Upon graduation, Todd began serving as a Deputy Gallatin County Attorney. In 2001, Todd was appointed the Chief Deputy County Attorney with oversight of the criminal division. The criminal division handles a variety of matters including misdemeanor offenses, felony offenses, DPHHS matters, involuntary mental health commitments, and civil drug forfeiture cases. Todd personally litigated many of the high profile felony and misdemeanor cases in Gallatin County for over two decades.
In 2012 Ashley left the County Attorney's Office to engage in individual representation of private clients. In 2013 Todd joined Ashley in private practice with a focus on criminal defense. Todd and Ashley live in Bozeman and share three adult children.
Jae began her career in the legal field in 2004 with a small private civil law office in Belgrade, Montana where she was a Legal Assistant. In 2006 she became a Deputy Clerk at the Gallatin County Justice Court in Bozeman, Montana. She worked for the Justices of the Peace and worked in both the civil and criminal departments. Jae worked closely with criminal justice agencies, reviewed documents filed with the Court, clerked Open Court, Jury and Judge Trials and assisted the public. Jae was hired in 2009 as Todd’s Legal Assistant at the Gallatin County Attorney’s Office. In 2012, Jae became the Lead Legal Assistant with oversight of the office legal assistants and office support staff. While at the County Attorney’s Office Jae worked closely with all of the Deputy County Attorneys, law enforcement, the Courts and court staff, and other criminal justice agencies. Jae left the County Attorney's Office in 2013 to join Todd and Ashley as their Legal and Administrative Assistant. Jae lives in Bozeman with her husband and has one adult child.

- In 2006 Ashley was awarded the Outstanding Prosecutor of the Year Award from the Montana Attorney General's Office and the Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
